By The Cute and Girly/ Feb Challenge

Well, Its the first of the month, so its also a time for a new challenge over at by the Cute and Girly! This time it was the turn of the lovely Jules to set the challenge...as we all know Jules is the queen of hearts!! so it was very appropriate that she set us the theme of....LOVE

As Many of you know I have had 3 friends get engaged in the last month, so I have been up to my eyes in engagement cards...I have still not sent them a card yet, but all my friends, and the couples families have sent them creations of mine.... Anyway this make is a little gift for one of the couples...Its a guest book that they can hand around on the big day for everyone to sign..... I had to break into my 12x12 papers for this one, as I did not have enough scraps to cover 4 sides, and make them look co - ordinated!

The paper is from "Papermania" The image is from " le Blanche" I have coloured with copic's and hand stitched the mats. Then of course loads and loads of stickles....well it is for a wedding!!!!!

I dont know why...but I really Love this little card..the cupcake images are from "Polka Doodle - Love and cherish" cd. which I have coloured using my copics.

The papers are from the old scrap pile....the pale pink paper is "HOTP" and the patterned paper down the spine is "Papermania" again I have added a touch of stickles and some gems.

My final make is again from my scraps! The paper is "Daisy D" I didn't quite have enough paper to cover the card, hence the stitching detail down the side! The fab image is from "Marij Rahder" I have coloured her in with copic's...and again added some sparkle with stickles!

I think I need to start using some sketches again....I had stopped following them for a little while, as every time I attempted to follow a sketch it all went wrong, and I ended up fed up, not accomplishing anything...and saying I was going to get rid of my stuff and give up.....So I thought I would do my own thing, as I used to do before life in blogland. All these makes were made at different times during last month, I thought I had a lovely variety but now I have put them together, I have realised that they all that exactly the same layout!! LOL!! Any hoooo,

Please pop over to By The Cute and Girly The girls have produced some pretty amazing stuff..I am always amazed by the talent, its worth taking a look...I am always inspired by them all.....and please join in we love to see your creations as well, and as always there are some fab prizes on offer!!

Hugs Juls

Precious Hearts

Hi, how are you all? This is an anniversary card I have made using a gorgeous precious moments image, that you can get free from: Colouring Pages and more I have saved quite a few of these gorgeous images, so I am sure they will be popping up again!

I have a confession to make......I have not used my scraps, I was making my card for Brenda's challenge and blog hop...its tomorrow!!! whooo hooo!! and as it was a special occasion I allowed myself to cut into a lovely new 12"x12" paper.....then I had another look at all my lovely papers, and fell off the bandwagon...now I have probably just refilled the very tiny hole I had created in my scraps!!

Anyway..the fab papers that I could not resist are "Bo Bunny" I have coloured the image with copic's. I have added some flowers created using punches, and lots of stickles!

This is my entry for:

Crafty Card Makers - Hearts/Romance
Spoon Full of Sugar - Freestyle
Cute card Thursday - Blooming gorgeous
Dare you to Digi Stamp Friday - Hearts

A Little Strange.....

Ok, I am really not sure on this creation at all, I made it for Paper Cutz as the challenge there is Farm Yard animals..I have used the gorgeous "Marij Rahder" stamps...gorgeous characters perfect for this challenge, and I had the idea of putting the horse behind the stable door!.......Its just now I realise that there is a random stable door in the middle of a field with 1/2 a horse!.....hey I guess that's what you call artistic licence!!

I have coloured using my copics! the paper is.................yes you've guessed from my neverending pile of scraps!! I actually didn't quite have enough of the green, hence lots of torn little bits to create a hilly effect!!.......so yes I do think the result are just a little strange but hopefully it will make someone smile!!

cupcake scrapling

This is just a quick little scrapling, using my scraps again!! and this gorgeous cupcake image from polka doodles.

This is not the most exciting use of a punch, but this little flower punch is the only one I have, I know I could have made a fab rose or something with it..but I am so short of time at the mo, I had to keep it quick and simple...and I do quite like the results.

This is my entry for:

Simon says - Punch it.
Creative Card Crew - Punch it.

Just a quick reminder that I do have a little mini candy on offer, its not much but if you like it please click the link on my sidebar and enter.

Hugs to you all

Another Engagement Card

This is another one of the many many engagement cards I have had to make. I know you will be sick of me saying this...but again using up my scraps (I ought to take a photo of them all...and show just what a never ending task this will be!!......I just want to make a dent in them at least, but that doesn't seem to be happening!)

I think the stripy paper and the Pink damask paper is "daisy d" the dotty paper is "K&Co" The gorgeous image is "Penny Black" which I have coloured with my copic's....getting to grips with them a bit better now! enjoying the results.

I have just finished of with some swirl peeloffs, a "Prima" Flower..a fancy brad, and some "Kanban" pearls.

This is my entry for:

Crafty Creations
- Love
Crafty Catz - Love
Alphabet - M is for mouse
Penny Black - something sweet

Just a couple of p.s's

I am sure you have all seen the big purple advert at the top of my Blog for Brenda's candy and challenge...she has now revealed that the sponsors of this challenge are Sir Stampalot, and also she has a few sneek peeks of that fab prize, why not pop over and have a look! Blog Hop Update

Also, I have candy in the post below, so please have a look, you are welcome to it if you would like to give her a home...some of you have been very kind, and said that you liked my idea of not advertising it..but I cant take credit for this idea, The Lovely Donalda and Tammi have done this before, and I borrowed the idea from them, because I thought it was a nice touch.

Hugs to you all...enjoy the rest of your weekend...Juls

Love Cupcakes

This is just a quick card, I have so many things that I "have" to make just now..unfortunately the pressure is effecting my creativity, Last night I spent the whole night crafting...and made nothing..everything I touched went wrong, and the only thing I really managed to do was make a big mess of my spare room..

Anyway I decided to take a little break and play for the sake of it, and go back to my list of things to make later.

The gorgeous cupcake image is from the fab "polka Doodles - Love and Cherish cd" I have coloured it with my copics...and sprinkled glitter on the icing. Still working through my scraps!! I know the brown DP is "Basic Grey" but the other papers unfortunately I have no idea.

Thought I would enter this into the following challenges

Allsorts - Pink and Brown
Spoon Full of Sugar - Layering
Creative Belli - Hearts

Also as a quick P.S some how I have accidentally changed the font size on my blog..only on the Dashboard page, and when I go to leave a comment..the font is really tiny..I have tried clicking all sorts of stuff and I cant see how to change it, I was wondering if any of you technical wizz kids could help?...TA!! How Tweet!

This is another card make from a Polka Doodles cd this time "Back to Nature". Again with this card, I have not used a huge amount of imagination...the background with the scallops and the tree is on on the CD...so are the owls which I have just printed out and perched onto a branch....and I also printed out the flowers and added them to. A few pearls and a splash of stickles and hey presto another card.

I am really looking forward to having more of a play with these fab cd's and getting a little more creative.. Just don't have that much time at the mo, as I am still working on engagement cards...and It takes me ages to make a card..i am so slow, but I enjoy it and that's the main thing.

I am just so impressed with the cd as with such little time and effort, I still like the results.

Polka Doodles Love

Well I think there is something in the air at the mo, 3 of my friends have recently got engaged. So I have to make them all a card, also other family members and friends of the 3 couples are also wanting me to make cards for them to give too...so at the mo I have engagement cards coming out my ears....and my poor little brain is struggling..as I cant really make them all the same in case any of the couples get duplicate cards.......

Anyway My latest purchase is the Polka Doodles - Love and Cherish cd so it has already been well used!

I have just discovered the polka doodles cd's recently and I have the "back to nature" and the "Love and Cherish" cd's..they are both amazing!! I would recommend them to anyone!!

Polka doodles challenge this week is Love...so I thought I would enter this card, I have made a few different ones and couldn't decide which one to enter....I have not used much imagination with this one. This is a backing paper from the Love and Cherish cd which I have printed out twice. I have cut it down, then cut out the heart and foliage to create some 3d work and finally added the message.....but I still love this card, so I thought it showed of how amazing the art work on the cd was.......I am looking forward to having more of a play with cd in the future!!

As this is my latest craft purchase I thought I would enter it into:

Creative Inspirations - New Year, New products
Charisma Cardz - Anything new

Some Day My Prince Will Come

This is card that kind of came together as a happy accident..I am not sure that I would normally like it, but I know the little 7 year old girl that it is going to will absolutely love it, (She loves princess, pink, and lots and lots of sparkle) and for that reason I love it too!! I babysit her quite a lot, and so she often comes over to make cards, her principle is why have a piece of card showing when you could cover it with a sticker!!

Anyway...as many of you know I am currently on a drive to use up my scraps, so I had pulled out a load of pink papers that coordinate in order to make this card...then I covered the card in this paper ( I think it is "Sandy Lion" ) once I put it down I thought it looked like the princess was was standing on a hill..so I went with that...and so began the happy accident!

The fab trees are from "Polkadoodle - back to Nature cd" The gorgeous stamp is of course "Whiff of Joy - Princess Charlotte" The clouds I actually drew myself...I know I am just astounded at my talent! LOL....think it is probably the only thing that I am capable of drawing..so this is the first time and probably the last time there will be a hand drawn element to my card. and finally lashings and lashings of sparkle by using stickles and little flower gems.

This is my entry for:

Polka doodles - Song title "Some day my prince will come" - Disney
Crafty Catz - bright and sparkly
Ohh la la creations - create a scene
Cupcake - going girly

Distressed Nonsense

Still playing with my new copic's! Love the vibrancy of the colours. That's something I have not been able to do before so enjoying the look! still getting used to the bleeding issues! Thanks to all of you that gave me such wonderful advice in my last post! I have used a gorgeous Leanne Ellis design from Sugar Nellie...I love this image and yet I have only inked her a few times so I thought it was high time she made another appearance!

I am still working my way through my scrap box..in all honesty it could probably keep me going in crafting all year..so the idea of making a dent in it is prob a little unrealistic but I will see how I go.

These papers are from "WRMK - Nonsense range" They are so bright and vibrant but yet have a gorgeous distressed feel, although I have had my sandpaper out to add to the whole "distressed feel" and have crumpled up and torn the paper to add to the effect. The thread is leftover from some finished cross-stitch.

Copics!!! WHOOOO HOOOOOO!!!

As you may be able to tell from the title I am very excited to finally own some copics!!! 72 in fact! This is my first creation with them. I was so overwhelmed and excited I didn't know where to start to I checked out the copic colour challenge blog the challenge this week was jade green (G00) Light pink (RV21) Pale blue (B32)...so that's where I started.

For me This was a back to front way of making a card, I normally choose my DP's first then colour..this time I coloured first...also at the mo I am going through one of those guilt fazes where I feel I must use up everything I have before I buy new stuff so all the cards I have made recently are from my very enormous pile of scraps...that is true for this card so unfortunately I cant tell you what the DP's are as I have no idea! I am quite pleased with the tag..It is actually one that for some reason I must have cut up so I only had a stub of it left..But I cut a little strip of what was left off and stuck it down in 2 pieces and then put the main image over it so it looks like a complete tag!! The layout is my own, as at the mo every time I follow a sketch it seems to go horribly wrong..so trying to do my own thing for a while in attempt to get my mojo back!

Really enjoyed using the copic's. I need to get used to the way they bleed..I have gone over the edges a little as a result of this, but I have tried to disguise it with some grey shadowing!..Its not too noticeable only if you look closely! (so don't ask me why I have chosen to show you a close up of my bad colouring!)

Thought I would also enter this card into the following challenges:

Alphabet - K is for Kid's
ABC - L is for layering
Just us Girls - stitching (real of faux)
Creative Belli Blog - Glitter or rhinestones ( I have added stickels to the little flowers (made with a punch) to give them a touch of sparkle.

Retro Pram

I love this image sooo much! It's from Chris over at Sketching Stamper I have wanted this for ages, but a friend of mine asked me to make some baby cards for her so this was the perfect excuse!

The papers are all from "Daisy D" as is the rub on sentiment. It is ages since I have used a rub on, I forgot how much I like them. I have coloured it in using my whispers pens....(although I have to tell you I have eventually got round to buying some copic's with the pocket money I have saved from selling cards, just to friends and family and so 72 pens arrived today!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to have a play, unfortunately I must work first!) Also I have coloured 2 images and cut out the hood part of the pram and raised it slightly to add a little dimension.

The little flowers and leaves have been made using my new flower punch, and I added lots of faux stitching as usual!! This is my entry for:

Sketchy Colors - Yellow, Pink, details in bronze (the bronze details are there they are just difficult to see the the photo. I have coloured the wheels and handles of the pram in a bronze colour, and I have used the same pen to shadow the word happiness. - probably the only way to see it will be to click on the photo!)
Cupcake challenge - Baby
One stop craft challenge - Something beginning with B (baby card)
Cute Card Thursday - All new

Two Hearts

I Love this sketch from Cardvarks I really wanted to give it a go because I thought the sketch looked really classic and that is the look I have tried to go for, but in all honesty I don't think I really like this card.

I have cut down a "papermania 8"x8" card to create the scallops. The backing paper I have printed from "Debbie Moore - Art Deco" Cd and the sentiment I saw in this months craft stamper magazine and I thought it was just beautiful:

We were given:
Two hands to Hold
Two legs to walk
Two Eyes to see
Two Ears to Listen
But why only one heart?
Because the other
was given to someone else
For you to find.

then I have just finished off with a few peeloffs and gems. I will be interested to see what you think. Hugs Juls

Engagement

A Friend has asked me to make an engagement card for her..so this is what I have come up with. I will prob make a few more as I always like to give a choice if I can.

So I have taken out my "Sugar Nellie -Manga Kids" again as they make such a cute couple! I have coloured using a combo of "Copics" and "Derwant water pencils".

All The Dp's are from My Scrapbox, the only one I recognize is The love heart paper which is "DCWV - Rock stack" and finally I have finished off with a few gems.

Engagement - I think that is a perfect "new beginning" and there are quite a few challenges at the mo with this theme, so this is my entry for:

By The Cute and Girly Challenge 4

wow!! can you believe it is 2010 already!! I know It makes me sound really old, but where did last year go!!
Well, its the start of a new month, start of a new year, and start of another new challenge over at By The Cute and Girly Debby has set the challenge for this month and appropriately the challenge is : NEW

This new home card was made by cutting some of the "Papermania scalloped 8x8" " down to create the card base. I have used "American Crafts - the colour of memories" on the inside of the card, and finally I have used some "sugar nellie" manga kids and I have coloured them with whispers pens.

This was a very quick card. The topper and the little house are from my "Kanban - Lorali Faries kit" the paper was from my scrap box...I think it is "Sandylion" I have just added some faux stitching and the pearls as a finishing touch. I have made this for a friend who is in a world of her own and loves the thought of everything fairytale!!! so this is perfect for her.

Finally this is a page I have done of my wedding cake. I have been married for almost 10 years and this only the 2nd page I have done of my wedding album. This page is of my wedding cake. The background is done using "HOTP" and I have inked around the edges using "Distress ink - worn lipstick" again the papers are from the bottom of my scrap box. Then I have made some flowers using my new flower punch! Can you believe I have been crafting all this time and I have only just purchased a flower punch!! and finished off using some swirl peeloffs. The journaling tells the story of my Mum making the cake and then my sister in law decorating it.

Please pop over to By The Cute and Girly and have a look at the rest of the design teams amazing designs!! also as usual we have some totally amazing prizes on offer so please come and join in with us! We cant wait to see your creations!

Hugs to you all Juls
