At Last I see the light

Hi All,

This is a card I made quite a while ago now .. using a fabulous Little Darling stamp ... Think I would like to attempt colouring it again now that I have done a few more Create and Learn classes over at Kit and Clowder and am now getting more confident in colouring backgrounds.

This has been coloured up with copics ... I have kept the embellies quite simple, a little gold thread stitching, and a few dies. Also I have sprinkled a little frantage over the card too.

I have shared this on FB when I first made it so I am not entering it into any challenges today, but hope you enjoy looking at it none the less :-)

Last Ever Sugar Bowl Challenge

Hi All,

When Karen announced that she will be closing the doors on the Sugar Bowl Challenge and this would be the final one, I knew I just had to enter!! My first ever challenge entry in the magical world of blogland was in the Sugar Bowl .... and I was honoured to be on the Sugar Bowl DT for quite some time .... so I couldn't not be part of the last ever challenge.

This was a card that I made for my daughter to give her teachers on the last day of school ... unfortunately the photo is not the best quality, I quickly snapped it on my phone as we were running on the way to school :-)

I used a stamp from the Simply Sassy range and she has been coloured up with copics. I created a shaped card free hand ... and added bits and bobs to make it pretty, I made 3 of these as the Nursary she goes to has 3 lead teachers in the 1 class.

The Sugar Bowl

Also for anyone that's just visiting, I hope you don't mind me mentioning an earlier blog post of mine, I am doing a charity run for a cause that is very close to my heart. If you are interested in learning more you can read about it here

As always thanks for looking

Midnight Run

Hi All,

Here is an image from Saturated Canary, that I have coloured up in Copics. On the 27th of Aug I will be doing the 5K Midnight Runway Run on behalf of Clic Sargent.

So when I saw this image of Krista's I had to colour it up, and wanted to create a whole scene, It has turned out to have quite a fantasy look about that but I love it!!

I am going to give this to my Friend Melissa at the end of the run. There is a group of over 20 runners running in her daughter Jenna's name, we have called ourselves Jenna's Joggers. Jenna was diagnosed with Leukaemia at the age of 2. Jenna is now 7 and has been in remission for 2 years. I remember a time together and heard Jenna say to her mum " Mum I don't want to die" .. when you hear a 3 year old say that is kind of stays with you. The charity Clic Sargent offered support, physically, emotionally and financially. I have seen first hand the difference this charity can make and so this is why I wanted to get involved and take part in this charity event.

I am not the kind of person that likes to ask for money for anything, so I am really going out of my comfort zone to even be asking for sponsors ... however if it is something you feel you would like to do then you can learn more by following the link to my just giving page

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Julia-McNeill

I do appreciate there are lots of good causes out there so I realise we can not individually contribute to them all .. so if you just interesting in my colouring, that's fine too :-)

Thanks for taking the time to read this post

Little Gears Move Big Machines

Hi All,

Finally back with a card. Really going through a steam punk phase at the mo. Love this image from tiddlywinks ... which I have coloured up using copics. I added the background using distress inks black soot and faded jeans.

I am really proud of this one as every embellishment apart from the beaded berries, which are a goody from Anne - Marie designs. I have made myself either useing paper clay with guilding wax or utee.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Alphabet - Hand coloured image
CCC challenge - Die cut ( some of the cogs are die cut )
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything Goes

Jenna's Joggers .. Raising money for CLIC sargent

Hello All,

Sorry I have not been around in an age .... unfortunately I had a really bad case of bronchitis and I was ill for about 3 months, ... since then I have done a little crafting, but don't seem to get organised to photograph and share, but I will .. promise :-)

Today however I wanted to mention to you that I have signed up to do a 5K run in Inverness in order to raise money for CLIC Sargent a charity that provides support to children with cancer.

About 5 years ago one of my closest friend found out her 2 year old daughter had leukaemia. Jenna has successfully undergone treatment, and is now getting to enjoy being a little girl, which is a really beautiful thing to see. Both young Jenna and her family were an inspiration dealing with such difficult circumstances with great courage and a smile on their faces, they truly have been an inspiration to me.

The charity CLIC is something very close to their hearts, as they provided support in some of the families darkest moments. Jenna's mum has created a team of joggers to help raise money for this amazing charity and I am honored to be part of that team.

I appreciate there are many worthwhile causes and so many charities that we would love to support and we cant support them all, So please do not feel pressured to, however if you would like to sponsor me and raise money for this amazing charity, please click on the link below.

Any donations would be much appreciated. I will keep you up to date with my progress, and will back with some cards to share with you soon.

Memory Lane

Hi all,

I have been working on organising and de stashing my craft space. It has taken me weeks, at one point I did come down from the loft & said " I have just spent 4 hours of my life organising ribbon" .. LOL. I am all done now & I am looking forward to getting into the loft & having a play. I have discovered so much stuff I had forgotten I had, I have so many creative ideas floating round my head I am itching to get started.

In the meantime until I have something new to share I thought I would take a little trip down memory lane. I saw a lovely post from Nicky at Coops Corner, where she chose 2 of the most popular posts from each year she had been blogging & I thought I would do the same.

It's been a really lovely exercise, to see how far I have progressed in my creative journey. I started blogging in 2009 ... So here goes:
