For this make I have played with my gorgeous new Jane Davenport paints .. I made a quick watercolour background, and then did some stamping using Stampin Unicorn - Tall & Elegant and I used the butterfly from Dragonfly Doodles & finally I added a sentiment from the Bits & Pieces paper pad

Im on Youtube with a Polkadoodles Japanese Garden.

Hi Everyone,

So I have been brave and taken the plunge to start up a YouTube Channel .. You can find me at Julia McNeill Crafts & my very first video is Here I have done it as a real time tutorial, so if you fancy grabbing a cuppa and join me while I create, I would really love it if you could pop over and join me I would love to see you.

I have created this little Japanese Garden using the gorgeous Great Out Doors Stencil from Polkadoodles and the gorgeous Delicate Doodles stamp set. I have created a background using mt Ecoline Pens and some distress oxides. and the flower embellishments are all stamped and watercoloured.

Little Robin

Hi Everyone,

I loved making this Mixed Media piece. I picked up a little plaque thing from B&M bargains it was £1.60 .. and the little rectangle at the bottom swivels round to reveal a different message. I bought all of them when I saw them so I have another 3 in the loft ready to alter lol.

I started off by priming it by using Spray Gesso from Pinto ( love that stuff makes priming a piece soooo easy!! ) I then used the Poinsettia stencil and used some 3D embossing past through it .. when it had dried I coloured it us using some Dylusions Ink sprays. .. when that had dried I used the Winter/landscape Trees This time I put a Gel Medium through it, so it dried clear, & kept the colours of the background in it, I sprinkled a little glitter into it as it dried. Then to emphasise the design I went round the edges of the design using a inktense pencil. 

Then to decorate I used The Robin on a Branch Die & Stamp Set I die cut the branch & stamped out the little robin and coloured with my Ecoline Brush Pens. I then highlighted various areas using Nuvo Transparent liquid Pearls & finally added a sentiment from There is Snow Place Like Home

Buttercup Cottage at night

Hi there, sharing another make using the gorgeous What's Up Buttercup stamp set. I created a wash using some sparkle pens & then added Distress Ink in black suit around the edges. I then coloured up the houses with the sparkle pens too ... I have done the houses in multiple layers in order to create some dimension, and then added a generous amount of white splashes.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Hi There,

Sharing another make from the Polkadoodles show that was on Hochanda on Wednesday you can still catch the show on Hochanda if you missed it.

For this card I created a little moon from the Papers using a circle die. In the background I just created a little watercolour wash using a sparkle pen. I then stamped some stars with a pearlescent brilliance ink pad. I then stamped some of the other stars using gold embossing powder. I also twisted some glittery thread around the moon, & finally added a few gold splatters to finish off.

Polkadoodles - Challenge 27

Hi There

So excited to be a DT for the Polkadoodles Challenge Blog. The Challenge as always is Anything Goes. The DT were asked to add a number so I knew I just had to use the gorgeous 24 Carrot Friend stamp set I coloured up the gorgeous cottontail using my Zig Markers ... I also used some elements from to co-ordinating stamp sets and the Just Smile paper pack .. you can find all those goodies here

Splash Of Summer blossom

Hi there,

Sharing another make from the splash of summer collection. This card shows the power of the little stamps on the set.  http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/may-product-releases/

I used one of the twig looking stamp from Tall & Spiky, and some of the flowers from Doodle Dragon Fly to create a little blossom branch .. I then added a little bird from the Bee Nice sentiment set and tucked him in amongst the blossom branch.

I have coloured the whole scene using my Ecoline Pens

Bee's at Work

Hi All,

Sharing another make from the gorgeous new posy doodle range which you can find here For this card, in my head I had a concept of being able to peer into a beehive and watch the bees at work.

I used the gorgeous Honey Daisy stamp set to create the honey comb. I then sttok some card stock and stamped it  using flowers from the Tall and Spiky stamp set, I coloured it using distress inks and sparkle pens, I then tore a hole in the card, so you could peer through it and see the honey comb. I cut some extra flowers out to add some dimension to the card. Finally I used the Bee Nice Sentiment stamp set, and stamped out some bees using shrink plastic ... they are sooo cute!! Then I added some Anita's glaze over the bee's so they had a nice gloss finish to them, and then I added some black splashes as a finishing touch.

Altered Watering Can

Hello All ... great excitement today as Polkadoodles are back on Hochanda. We are thrilled to be showcasing The Stampin Unicorn stamps.

For this project I have altered a watering can. I used stamp Sets Blossom, Dotty about Flowers and Heavenly Bluebells. I stamped it up on rice paper and coloured up using Ecoline Pens, I then used a decoupage medium to adhere it to the watering can. I then painted parts of the can using paint from Indigo Blu and then finished off with a little string. The flower has been created by stamping onto stone paper and colouring with Ecoline pens.

Perfect Petals Sparkle

Hi All,

Back with another Stampin Unicorn make. This was also featured on Hochanda, you can still catch both the shows on rewind, here and here

There was a little bit of discussion on TV as to how I had done this one, so I thought I would fill you in. I have used the stamp Perfect Petals ( aldo available at Polkadoodles and Hochanda ) I have stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder , the flowers I stamped out twice and I have layered and shaped them a little to add some dimension. Both the background and the flowers have been coloured with Sheena's Sparkle Pens. I then added black and white paint splatters to give a more arty feel. The sentiment if from the fabulous Bits and Pieces paper pack and then added a few gems from the Heavenly dreams embellishment kit ( its worth checking out the bundle offer )
