Copics!!! WHOOOO HOOOOOO!!!
As you may be able to tell from the title I am very excited to finally own some copics!!! 72 in fact! This is my first creation with them. I was so overwhelmed and excited I didn't know where to start to I checked out the copic colour challenge blog the challenge this week was jade green (G00) Light pink (RV21) Pale blue (B32)...so that's where I started.
For me This was a back to front way of making a card, I normally choose my DP's first then colour..this time I coloured first...also at the mo I am going through one of those guilt fazes where I feel I must use up everything I have before I buy new stuff so all the cards I have made recently are from my very enormous pile of scraps...that is true for this card so unfortunately I cant tell you what the DP's are as I have no idea! I am quite pleased with the tag..It is actually one that for some reason I must have cut up so I only had a stub of it left..But I cut a little strip of what was left off and stuck it down in 2 pieces and then put the main image over it so it looks like a complete tag!! The layout is my own, as at the mo every time I follow a sketch it seems to go horribly wrong..so trying to do my own thing for a while in attempt to get my mojo back!
Really enjoyed using the copic's. I need to get used to the way they bleed..I have gone over the edges a little as a result of this, but I have tried to disguise it with some grey shadowing!..Its not too noticeable only if you look closely! (so don't ask me why I have chosen to show you a close up of my bad colouring!)
Thought I would also enter this card into the following challenges:
Alphabet - K is for Kid's
ABC - L is for layering
Just us Girls - stitching (real of faux)
Creative Belli Blog - Glitter or rhinestones ( I have added stickels to the little flowers (made with a punch) to give them a touch of sparkle.

ReplyDeleteGreat card Juls, the colours are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHaving only recently started using them (copics) - I have been reading a lot and the paper you use can effect the bleeding etc. On on one site SU White paper was recomended and I have stuck with this as it seems to work for me. Luckily I have a consultant too with makes it easy to get. Hope this helps. Congrats on your copics and have fun!
fabby card hon...i'd love some copics but will have to stick to my promarkers for now..and my new years resolution is to use up all my scraps lol..lets see how long that lasts!!
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely card Juls, lucky girl getting 72 at once, still trying to build mine but they are so much better easier than promarkers. Very into my distress inks also though lol. Where will it all end.
ReplyDeletePinky
Hi Juls,
ReplyDeleteYou have done a brilliant job with your new Copics - this image is beautiful.
By the way you can get ink refills for copics and it's much cheaper than replacing pens when the time comes.

ReplyDeleteMax x
WOW.. you have done an amazing job with the copics.. Gorgeous Card..
ReplyDeleteWhat a really lovely card! You have done a great job with the copics too. I am new to the copics to but am now a proud owner of the full set of Ciaos. But I now wonder how I managed without them. If your image is bleeding then try to lighten your hand when colouring, just use the tip. It take lots of practice. Enjoy!!!! hugs Shelley
ReplyDeleteperfect Copic colouring Juls, beautiful card and I went through that guilt but it went fast as soon as I saw new papers lol
ReplyDeleteMina xxx
Oh this is so sweet! I love the image and colors. Great way to use the tag too so cute! Thank you for your sweet comment and entering my blog candy. Good luck have a great day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Juls. I love the colours you used and this is such a sweet image. You seem to be getting on very well with your Copics. I have Promarkers and I use IQ smooth 160gsm from Staples. It's not too bad and I think it would work for Copics too. I've heard that SU white is good but a lot more expensive than the IQ!!
