Porcelain Lady

I Love these "Porcelain papers - Basic Grey" I have been playing with them all weekend...only wish I bought 2 packs now...not that I am short of other paper to use! LOL...

I have got quite a lot of cutesie cards in my collection at the mo, so I wanted to do something a little different. I dug out this old stamp from "personal impressions" I bought it from QVC forever ago, back when I had a handful of stamps and my entire crafting collection fit in one shoe box!!!...I have coloured her in with copics and the edges of the mat have been inked up, using "Distress ink, worn lipstick & shabby shutters", and the pink scroll coming down the side was a matching sticker from "basic Grey" that came with the paper pack. I have also used my "Hero arts - manuscript" to add some text to the background paper. Then I have used a little ribbon, created flowers with my punches, and as always a touch of stickels!!

This is my entry for:

Stamptacular Sunday
- Flower Power
Copic Creations - (I have chosen challenge 1 - skin tones)
Oh Alice - fine print (too add text to the design)

As always, thanks for looking

Sweet Tilda

Hi All, how are you? This is the first time I have entered any Magnolia Challenge, as so far I only have one Magnolia image in my collection.....however a very lovely bloggy friend of mine sent me a fab parcel of stamped images to play with......I love this little tilda, she is just sooooo sweet!!!!

I have to say, I think colouring Tilda's is an art form, I have to say, the first few I coloured up just looked really naff...so I have spend ages in blog land looking at the way you guys colour these little sweeties to make them look so gorgeous.....I have a long way to go yet, but this is a little better than my first attempts!

I have coloured her up using my copics and I have used some fab "Basic Grey - porcelain collection" papers, I have added some of the matching stickers, and lashings of stickles. The Little sentiment is a rub on from "K&Co"

This is my entry for:

Creative Cottage - Sparkle
Fab&Funky - Its all in the technique (I have used my fav techniques of distressing, faux stitching and fussy cutting)
Colour Create - choice of pastels

Set your Heart on Something Beautiful....

Hi All,

Many Thanks to you all for your get will wishes, they have been much appreciated. I have been told by the docs today that it will probably take about 6 weeks to get over...so I guess it will be less talking more crafting!!

Had a meeting with my boss today, who is based in Elgin, which as most of you know is also the home of "Paper Boutique" where all our lovely Sugar Nellies live, so of course I had to pop in....it is such a lovely shop to have a good wander round, thourally enjoyable!!!

Now my card, I am not sure if I like this one,

The paper is from "DCWV - all about girls stack" I had been using this sheet of paper for other cards and this bit was left over, I love it with the scallops, the journaling tag and the sentiment....so I literally just stuck it onto 5"x7" card, and wondered what to do next...

I thought the sentiment might work well for a wedding card...as 4 of my friends got engaged at the end of last year and I was making cards for all their friends and family thought I should make a start on wedding ones now!! so I stamped the " Lili of the vally" stamp directly onto the paper, then stamped it up another couple of times coloured with copics and her dress has also been painted with "twinkling H20's - Oyster" and I decoupaged them up.

Finally to try and create a bit of interest I have added the flowers, the pearls and bling..
not sure, but I will be interested to hear what you all think!

Spring is in the Air

Hello All, how are you?....unfortunately I am not so great at the mo, I have got Laryngitis..I have been ill for weeks but it took me ages to get seen by the docs! Any way I am now on anti biotics and am not allowed to speak for a week...that was driving me mad after about 10min, (but I think hubby enjoying the peace) I tell you I really appreciate the gift of speech. My tummy is not liking the antibiotics....but at least I can still use my hands so I can craft away quietly to myself!.....anyway enough of my moaning and onto my card....

I have been so spoiled recently and have had loads of new crafting goodies..hubby treated me to loads of WOJ stamps for my anniversary, so this is me using one of my new stamps..I also got the "DCWV - all about girls" stack, and the fab papers I have used are from that stack.

A Sassy Anniversary

Hi all.....another squint photograph!

This is a card I made for friends who were celebrating thier 25th wedding anniversary. In the end I didn't use a sentiment on the card, as anything I had in just didn't look right.

The fab image is from Sassy Studio Designs Which I have coloured using my copics! I had to alter his hair slightly and give him a bit of an afro, it didn't look quite right without it...hope that is ok.The pale pink paper is "sandylion - wedding roses" and the white paper with the swirls is "Kanban" The fabulous pink ribbon, was a gift from Bernie which she kindly popped in as an extra when I won her fab Sugar Nellie Candy!

I have tried just to keep this card simple..hope you like it.

Going Green

Hi All,

Firstly I apologise for the extreemly squint photo, I am not sure what is going on there!

This is a card that I have made using some new paper I got, Its from "Trimcraft" I have used a couple of my "Sugar Nellie" Manga kids, which I have coloured using my copics. The scallop detail was an offcut from "papermania" scallop card, I had which I have embossed using a cuttlebug plate and then sanded off. I have inked everything up with "distress ink - shabby shutters" then roughed up all the edges a bit using a craft knife.

This is my entry for:
Simon Says Green
Fab and Funky - Its all new (I have used new paper)
Fussy and Fancy - Green

Precious Moments Silver Wedding

Hi, I have been working on 25th Wedding Anniversary cards again, This is a little easel card that I have made. In all honesty I am not sure if I am happy with the finished card, I think it is the sentiment that I am not sure about..maybe it lacks a bit of interest..anyway........

The fab precious moment image is a free download from here which I have coloured using my copics! I then used a glue pen and a glitter sheet to add sparkle to her dress and shoes.

The large swirl was a bare chippy from "Bo Bunny" which I have covered using "Adirondack paint dauber - sail boat blue"...I bought them because I love the whole grungy, altered art look and want to give it a go, but I don't really know what I am doing so this is all I have done so far with it..I also used it to colour tint the edges of my mats...I then sprinkles glitter on the swirl to bling it up a little and went mad with the gems.

I have made Brenda's little handmade roses (first attempt at this) using a flower punch and then I covered in crackle glaze when I had finished.

And finally the paper is "K&Co - Mira collection"

Getting Shabby In The Sugarbowl!

This is my entry for the fab sugarbowl Challenge.....

I am really pleased with this card for 2 main reasons, firstly this is the first time I have followed a sketch in about 3 months. I was finding that every time I followed a sketch..I ended up getting tied in knots and not liking the results..so I have just been doing my own thing for a while......hence why all my cards had a similar layout....even I was getting bored with them!!!! So I have attempted to follow a sketch again, and i actually like how it turned out! whooo hooooo!!!!!!

The 2nd reason I am happy, is that I do struggle with the "shabby chic" look....I have been working on it, as it is a look I love and I would like to master it....I realise this is not a patch on the beautiful shabby chic cards all you guys produce, but it is the most happy I have been with this look.

The background text paper is "7 gypsies" and all the other papers and the sentiment are "Daisy D"... and I have coloured one of my Fav Leanne Elis designs with copics...I was a little worried when I cut her out that she would loose an arm, but thankfully it survived!

Once again Thanks for looking!

Glittery Butterfly

I really really want the new polkadoodles cd, as the images look just fab!! but I will have to sit on my hands for the mo....but I gave myself a good talking to as although I want more (why is it when it comes to craft you NEED everything!!) I have not really used the ones I have fully yet.....been on a production line of engagement cards and 25th cards for all my friends, and just not really had time to play!.......so I pulled out my "back to nature cd" and decided to try a technique that I have never tried before...

I printed this butterfly out on acetate, and glittered it up from the reverse...I wasn't sure if I had the right glue for the job...but I just used my glue pen and it worked out fine! I have not played with loose glitter in ages..normally use stickles...so I had glitter everywhere!!!! This was a bit time consuming but I love the result, and think it may become a new addiction....although I will have to run out and buy some more heat resistant acetate!

I Love the butterfly, but I am not sure about the rest of the card...I have used some lilac pearl card, and using a cuttlebug folder I have embossed some pearl paper...Then Just added some ribbon and gems...and stamped a little flourish on the edge of the mat.

My Star

awhhhh so sopppy!!!!!!!

I will be celebrating my 10th Wedding anniversary on Thursday! less than a week whoo hooo!!! We have planned a family celebration on the Saturday...but hubby and I are taking the day off on Thursday so we can spend it together.......and this is my anniversary card to him.

I love the sentiment, I saw it in a craft stamper magazine a few months ago...and that was the basis for my card. The Font Is Bradley Hand ITC and I Have typed it up in My Craft Studio so I could be a bit more artistic..making some of the words bigger but then being able to bunch them up together e.c.t!! (that's the technical term....LOL)

With the sentiment in mind I chose the star paper from "DCWV- Rockstar" and then I have cut the larger stars out of another paper from the same stack. I went a little mad and covered every side of the card..even the back!!

I have stamped up " WOJ - Tuxedo Charlie " and coloured him with copics and raised him up on 3d foam.

Finally as an extra little touch I have used some of the "Papermania" magnets to make a little strap that you have to open to read the card..not the most imaginative use of the magnet but I think it is a fun little touch...I was going to cleverly hide the magnet but in the end I decided that as it was silver being able see it went well with the look of the card.

The whole card looks quite simple but I quite like the way it turned out and I cant wait to give it to him now!!

Precious Moments in Sepia

Hi all,

This is a little card using a free download from here ( A huge thank you to the fabulous Pinky for the link)

The only Music background paper that I had was this "K&Co" one that I used here which is why I went for the sepia look. I have coloured using my copics.

I love the sentiment:

"Love is Friendship set to Music"

I have printed it out on my computer and then just cut up into labels. Everything has been inked up using " Distress Ink - Antique Linen and Walnut Stain" The Leaf flourish I have stamped in the corners is from "le Blanche" and finally I have used a selection on "Prima flowers" and some black pearls.

This is my entry for:

Rosie Dees - Friendship
Stamptacular Sun - The Good Old Days
Crafty Creations - All one colour

Spring is in the air at By The Cute and Girly

Hi All,

Well This is a bit of a bitter sweet post for me today! Firstly it is a new month, so it is time for a new challenge over at By The Cute and Girly This month the challenge of "spring is in the air" has been set by Brenda and as always there are some fab prizes on offer so its well worth entering to be in with the chance to win.

However this will also be my last post as a member of the BTC&G design Team. I have been having long discussions with my hubby about blogland e.c.t...and he feels I spend so much time blogging that I don't seem to enjoy crafting the same.....and that is my first love! and so I have decided to take a step back from everything for the moment. I am not going to disappear altogether but I will not be in blogland as often as I am at the mo. I couldn't disappear completely, none of my friends understand my love of paper, pens, images e.c.t....or get that excited over finished cards so it is nice to share with people that have the same passion for crafting as I do.

So for the moment I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Jane who gave me this fab opportunity and all the girls that I have worked along side. I am really going to miss it...and I have really loved being on the team. As you will be aware BTC&G has had a DT call....so I want to wish all of you that entered the best of luck!

So now onto my cards:

This card was made...again using the free images I downloaded from Colouring pages I have coloured the image using my copics. I have raised the little girl using silicone glue unfortunately it seeped through a little and so I have covered everything in stickles to try and disguise it! hence the chick with a glittery green head!!!

I have gone for the distressed look, as It is one I love but I am never that happy when I do it, so feel I have to keep practicing...I have done some faux stitching....the glittery swirls are double sided peel offs

This I have made using my brand new lilli of the Vally stamp...the papers are once again from my scrap pile...I will hazard a guess that they are "Daisy D"

the image I have coloured using my copics....as are the little pearls that I coloured in to match (I know I am a little slow...but I have only just discovered I could do that!...........oh the possibilities!)

Finally I have this little notepad.....I got a pack of 8 little notepads from poundland....so they literally cost pennys...I have covered it in some K&Co paper....the image is "Jolly Nation" and I have finished off with buttons and fibres....(I am well into buttons at the mo!)

Anyway that's me for today...once again thanks for looking!
