Simon say's - Get Well Soon

I mentioned in my last post that I had lost my Mojo, I sat down to make some cards last night and I put away stuff I was currently working on and just had a play for me.

In the past in a life before blogland when I sat down to make cards, I never had a plan, I just used to play away i just started having no idea where I was going and the card just kind of used to end up happening (If that makes sense!) Now don't get me wrong I love blogland and all the lovely inspiration it has with sketches and colour combo's and recipes and I have loved the challenge! Its much easier now when friends ask for something specific, I can do it without panicking, thanks to blogland with all its challenges.

Last night however I turned off the computer and just crafted for me, to try and rediscover what I do! and I am feeling much happier now about myself and my crafting mojo!!

I made a few cards, here is one of them...I made this up and then remembered Simon Says had a "Get Well" theme and so added the little sentiment! I am quite happy with this one although it is not my usual style! (not that I really have a style!!)

Thanks for listening to all my waffle!! Hugs Juls

  6. Yes Juls, I totally agree with what you've said....... I think sometimes we just over complicate things! When I first started cardmaking I was a 'cut and stick' kind of gal and have definitely come along way, but I know I'm always more stressed out now, lol!
I love your card..... it's simple, striking and very elegant!

  18. This card is beautiful Juls. I agree with you about following challenges etc, and it's so nice to do something your way, no sketch,no certain colours, papers or themes, just what you feel like doing sometimes.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving comments, I really appreciate it.

  19. Hiya Juls..
Thank you for the lovely comments on my blog.... coming over and reading your 'about you' bit and a little of your posts you sound very very much like me! I live for my crafting, eat sleep and dream it to, although the downside is there's no card to show when you wake up!!
I know what you mean about starting with nothing too and seeing how the day goes, thats usually the way i do it..either that or a good old sketch challenge to kick me into gear lol

I love the simple and stylish design of the card above, i cant do these, i always feel i need to add more!
right i've now waffled enough TTFN

  21. This is very stylish Juls. Sometimes less is best. I've just posted two cards and the sympathy card is plainer than usual just because it is a sympathy card and it's for an elderly lady. I'm not sure I have a style either! When you follow a sketch you tend to maybe do more than you would without a sketch. I looked at my Christmas card this morning and actually asked myself if it needed anything else? How daft was that?

  26. I know what you mean juls, thats why I wanted the cute and girly blog to be wide open to other crafts and style and not set stamps or sketches. I turn off the pc and make cards for church or just look at other blogs in other countries.
Your free style works a treat, lovely card, simple but striking. janex

  30. Hi Juls, I totally hear where you're coming from! My mojo went walkies on me too this week and I know why! Trying to create something for a sketch that just would not work for me. Maybe I should just dump the sketch and do what I gotta do!! Would probably save time in the long run. Anyhow, I absolutely adore your card. I love your use of the white space, it is soooo effective. The results are really stunning. keeley xx
