At last a card!

It feels like ages since I have actually put a card here, so I have one for you now!

I don't think I actually have a style, just like trying loads of different things. It is ages since I have done some resist stamping, and that is part of the challenge over at
so i thought I would give it a go.
The list of ingredients are:

1: Cat or Dog

2: Black and Gold

3: 3 different brads

4: faux-batik Beatrice (great tutorial available on the ready steady stamp blog)

5: book or newspaper page.

The cat stamp is from "Anita".

I couldn't possibly rip a page from an old book, but I actually took a colour photocopy from a page of little woman which is a really old book that I inherited from my grandmother, I think it has worked ok. I have used a swirl stamp from "le blanche" to do the resist stamping, and I have touched it up with gilding flakes (which I have had in my craft cupboard for months and months and not used yet)

The edges have been inked with "distress ink-walnut" I have also sponged the cat image using the walnut ink so I am going to enter it into http://365cards.blogspot.com/ as the challenge there was sponging ( it was actually yesterdays challenge so I hope its ok to put it in a wee bit late!) I had intended to post this last night, but it was midnight by the time I had finished so the photo would have been really rubbish, and I really did have to go to bed!
and finally I used a paper flower from prima, some peel off leaves from Dawn Bibby and coloured it in with sakura gel pens, and the fancy brad is " Bo Bunny - Bella Journee"

  1. Oh I love this one Juls - it is gorgeous! I'm like you and don't really have a style but love to try different things. The Ready Steady challenge looks like it will provide plenty of opportunity for experimenting. I didn't enter this week because I don't think I have a cat or dog to use. I can't wait to see what they come up with for their second challenge. I'll be back soon.

  5. I've always thought about scanning pages from books, I have an old hymnal from Great-G'm, now I'm motivated to do it. Thanks for reminding me!

  6. Great creation! I love the printed page. I know how you feel about ripping pages from books.... but I must say, our local library gives away old books at least once a week. I have no problem ripping out those pages. Especially when it's a subject I don't like. :) I love the look of your card.

  16. Wow this is really different! I've never actually tried resist stamping yet, must give it a go. I'm really fed up about having to work all day every day this week! Will be through Perth on Saturday when I go to Crieff but probably too late to look for Stampaholics! I might get a look in October when my daughter has her second baby!! By the way your new stash looks fabby.
