Under My Umbrella

Hello All,

I am a little nervous about sharing this card.....I love so many styles of crafting that I don't really know if I have found my niche.....I have to say I do love the whole Tim Holtz, grunge altered art thing but I have never really given myself much time to just play, however I have recently found a few challenge blogs that are concentrating on this style so I thought it was a good chance to push myself out of my comfort zone.....so this was me attempting to be a little more experimental although I am not sure if I have executed it very well.

Firstly the image is form "Do Crafts" which I have stamped with "Distress ink - Walnut stain"...I blended the background, splashed water, and then repainted in the image using the ink.....again the fabulous papers are "g.h.d studios - Paris nights" and they have all been inked up with antique linen.

The swirl I have created using corrugated card...a first for me I have never used it on a card before. I used "sizzix - flourish and hearts" and then rubbed in some "distress stickels - worn lipstick".

I have to comment on the Fabulous Crochet flower. I was so fortunate to win the February elements kit from the fabulous Design Dollies.....I got a gorgeous mixed bag of embellies and some fabulous stamps...I do feel incredibly embarrassed as I have not used them yet. My gorgeous parcel arrived just before I went to Canada.....since I came back I have been doing my mass production of wedding cards, and I have had other things going on in life........so I am delighted to finally be able to getting to play with these gorgeous goodies!!! and so Thank you girls - and I am so sorry for the delay!!

This is my entry for:

Bunny Zoe Crafts - Vintage
Craftalicous - pearls ans swirls
Creatalicious Challenges - Vintage
Studio L3 - Distressed stickles

Thanks for looking
Hugs Juls

  13. Juls, no reason to be nervous-- this is absolutely wonderful! I love the way you put this card together-- the image is darling, and the water-dripped background is perfect. You used the Distress Stickles so well, and the crocheted flower is a great finishing touch.

I'm so happy you stepped out of your comfort zone and shared this awesome art with us at the CCC, and I very much hope to see you again next week! ♥
