Spring is in the air at By The Cute and Girly
Hi All,
Well This is a bit of a bitter sweet post for me today! Firstly it is a new month, so it is time for a new challenge over at By The Cute and Girly This month the challenge of "spring is in the air" has been set by Brenda and as always there are some fab prizes on offer so its well worth entering to be in with the chance to win.
However this will also be my last post as a member of the BTC&G design Team. I have been having long discussions with my hubby about blogland e.c.t...and he feels I spend so much time blogging that I don't seem to enjoy crafting the same.....and that is my first love! and so I have decided to take a step back from everything for the moment. I am not going to disappear altogether but I will not be in blogland as often as I am at the mo. I couldn't disappear completely, none of my friends understand my love of paper, pens, images e.c.t....or get that excited over finished cards so it is nice to share with people that have the same passion for crafting as I do.
So for the moment I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Jane who gave me this fab opportunity and all the girls that I have worked along side. I am really going to miss it...and I have really loved being on the team. As you will be aware BTC&G has had a DT call....so I want to wish all of you that entered the best of luck!
So now onto my cards:
This card was made...again using the free images I downloaded from Colouring pages I have coloured the image using my copics. I have raised the little girl using silicone glue unfortunately it seeped through a little and so I have covered everything in stickles to try and disguise it! hence the chick with a glittery green head!!!
I have gone for the distressed look, as It is one I love but I am never that happy when I do it, so feel I have to keep practicing...I have done some faux stitching....the glittery swirls are double sided peel offs
This I have made using my brand new lilli of the Vally stamp...the papers are once again from my scrap pile...I will hazard a guess that they are "Daisy D"
the image I have coloured using my copics....as are the little pearls that I coloured in to match (I know I am a little slow...but I have only just discovered I could do that!...........oh the possibilities!)
Finally I have this little notepad.....I got a pack of 8 little notepads from poundland....so they literally cost pennys...I have covered it in some K&Co paper....the image is "Jolly Nation" and I have finished off with buttons and fibres....(I am well into buttons at the mo!)
Anyway that's me for today...once again thanks for looking!
Hugs Juls

These are all great Juls, what a cute little notepad too. I know what you mean, blogging is very time consuming as there are fabulous ideas, inspiration and links to other great things that you get so involved and don't realise how much time has gone by. Enjoy your extra time doing the crafting you so love.

Hi Juls,
ReplyDeleteThese are beautifully crafted cards. Each one of them is gorgeous in it's own way. I love them.
I will miss you in blogland because I have so enjoyed my visits hereand your support has been much appreciated. However you must do what you think is best for you and your family. Take care and enjoy whatever you do.
God bless.
Special Hugs,
Fiona x
These are all beautiful, Juls!! I hope you have more crafting "just because" time!! Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteHi Juls, firstly your new creations are all gorgeous...those images are the sweetest....LOTV have released some real cuties!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand about the blogging overtaking the crafting...and as you work your craft time is even more precious....it takes time to find the balance...so good for you doing what it takes to work for you! bx
so pretty and cheering, loving the spring. janex
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous Juls and I will really miss seeing your lovely work as part of the BTC&G DT. I do know what you mean about blogging taking up a lot of your time though. Last week I really struggled to get all the commenting done on all the entries. I am very conscientious about it and feel that if someone enters a challenge it is nice to acknowledge the fact. Sometimes I really feel I don't get much crafting done!
ReplyDeleteI'll miss being able to visit your blog as often but since you're on my favourite blogs I'll be able to visit you when you have time to post. Enjoy time to yourself to craft.
Hugs Kat xx

Oh Hun what a shame you will be missed dear, but I do understand, I had to take a few weeks off from commentging and I felt so guilty about it, which is not right as crafting is a hobby and should never become a chore.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck sweetie

I'm so pleased to hear you're not going to dissapear too!! Love to see all your creations but understand that this hobby can take over if you let it!!!
ReplyDeleteTake care
Oh these are fabulous, I love the image you have used on the notebook. I am glad you won't be totally disappearing from blogland as I love looking at your creations but I can fully understand why you are taking some time to yourself, blogging can become so time consuming.
ReplyDeleteThese cards are all so beautiful! I love the glitter swirls on the first one. I hope you find your love of paper crafting again. I'm sure you will. And I'm glad to hear you and your lovely creations will still be around.
ReplyDeleteUnderstandable, that's exactly why I don't join DT's, I want to keep this a "fun" hobby. :) Wow, you've made lots of cute things! Love the felt piece on the second card and that PM image is darling! Will have to look that image up, thanks! ~Hugs
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely Juls. The LOTV stamp is one of my favourites. Sorry to hear you wont be about so much. Totally understand. I stepped down from 5 Dt's for the same reason, but had to stay on 1.(LOTV), these stamps are far to cute
ReplyDeleteClairex
Oh Juls, I totally understand the need to take a little breather! I hope you destress a little and enjoy your hobby more.
ReplyDeleteThe cards you made are adorable! I am soo loving the LOTV stamps so much! The nice cheery colors on that one are just awesome!
Hugs and take care!

ReplyDeleteMina xxx
Gorgeous cards Juls and such a sweet little notepad, the distressing on the first card looks brilliant :) Donna x
ReplyDeleteBeing a polite, active blogger is a big job, I've found the same to be true, it can gobble up the free time that is intended to be crafting in the first place, so although you will be missed, I totally understand!!
ReplyDeleteYour creations are gorgeous, I thought that was a PEEP, not a glittery chick, lol. These are so refreshing, love the springy colours and your amazing colouring!!
Take Care,
Stephanne
They all looked so "Precious" Juls. Not just that, but also very sweet too :o)
