Distressed Nonsense

Still playing with my new copic's! Love the vibrancy of the colours. That's something I have not been able to do before so enjoying the look! still getting used to the bleeding issues! Thanks to all of you that gave me such wonderful advice in my last post! I have used a gorgeous Leanne Ellis design from Sugar Nellie...I love this image and yet I have only inked her a few times so I thought it was high time she made another appearance!

I am still working my way through my scrap box..in all honesty it could probably keep me going in crafting all year..so the idea of making a dent in it is prob a little unrealistic but I will see how I go.

These papers are from "WRMK - Nonsense range" They are so bright and vibrant but yet have a gorgeous distressed feel, although I have had my sandpaper out to add to the whole "distressed feel" and have crumpled up and torn the paper to add to the effect. The thread is leftover from some finished cross-stitch.

Copics!!! WHOOOO HOOOOOO!!!

As you may be able to tell from the title I am very excited to finally own some copics!!! 72 in fact! This is my first creation with them. I was so overwhelmed and excited I didn't know where to start to I checked out the copic colour challenge blog the challenge this week was jade green (G00) Light pink (RV21) Pale blue (B32)...so that's where I started.

For me This was a back to front way of making a card, I normally choose my DP's first then colour..this time I coloured first...also at the mo I am going through one of those guilt fazes where I feel I must use up everything I have before I buy new stuff so all the cards I have made recently are from my very enormous pile of scraps...that is true for this card so unfortunately I cant tell you what the DP's are as I have no idea! I am quite pleased with the tag..It is actually one that for some reason I must have cut up so I only had a stub of it left..But I cut a little strip of what was left off and stuck it down in 2 pieces and then put the main image over it so it looks like a complete tag!! The layout is my own, as at the mo every time I follow a sketch it seems to go horribly wrong..so trying to do my own thing for a while in attempt to get my mojo back!

Really enjoyed using the copic's. I need to get used to the way they bleed..I have gone over the edges a little as a result of this, but I have tried to disguise it with some grey shadowing!..Its not too noticeable only if you look closely! (so don't ask me why I have chosen to show you a close up of my bad colouring!)

Thought I would also enter this card into the following challenges:

Alphabet - K is for Kid's
ABC - L is for layering
Just us Girls - stitching (real of faux)
Creative Belli Blog - Glitter or rhinestones ( I have added stickels to the little flowers (made with a punch) to give them a touch of sparkle.

Retro Pram

I love this image sooo much! It's from Chris over at Sketching Stamper I have wanted this for ages, but a friend of mine asked me to make some baby cards for her so this was the perfect excuse!

The papers are all from "Daisy D" as is the rub on sentiment. It is ages since I have used a rub on, I forgot how much I like them. I have coloured it in using my whispers pens....(although I have to tell you I have eventually got round to buying some copic's with the pocket money I have saved from selling cards, just to friends and family and so 72 pens arrived today!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to have a play, unfortunately I must work first!) Also I have coloured 2 images and cut out the hood part of the pram and raised it slightly to add a little dimension.

The little flowers and leaves have been made using my new flower punch, and I added lots of faux stitching as usual!! This is my entry for:

Sketchy Colors - Yellow, Pink, details in bronze (the bronze details are there they are just difficult to see the the photo. I have coloured the wheels and handles of the pram in a bronze colour, and I have used the same pen to shadow the word happiness. - probably the only way to see it will be to click on the photo!)

One stop craft challenge - Something beginning with B (baby card)

Two Hearts

I Love this sketch from Cardvarks I really wanted to give it a go because I thought the sketch looked really classic and that is the look I have tried to go for, but in all honesty I don't think I really like this card.

I have cut down a "papermania 8"x8" card to create the scallops. The backing paper I have printed from "Debbie Moore - Art Deco" Cd and the sentiment I saw in this months craft stamper magazine and I thought it was just beautiful:

We were given:
Two hands to Hold
Two legs to walk
Two Eyes to see
Two Ears to Listen
But why only one heart?
Because the other
was given to someone else
For you to find.

then I have just finished off with a few peeloffs and gems. I will be interested to see what you think. Hugs Juls

Engagement

A Friend has asked me to make an engagement card for her..so this is what I have come up with. I will prob make a few more as I always like to give a choice if I can.

So I have taken out my "Sugar Nellie -Manga Kids" again as they make such a cute couple! I have coloured using a combo of "Copics" and "Derwant water pencils".

All The Dp's are from My Scrapbox, the only one I recognize is The love heart paper which is "DCWV - Rock stack" and finally I have finished off with a few gems.

Engagement - I think that is a perfect "new beginning" and there are quite a few challenges at the mo with this theme, so this is my entry for:

Stamping for the Weekend - New beginnings

By The Cute and Girly Challenge 4

wow!! can you believe it is 2010 already!! I know It makes me sound really old, but where did last year go!!
Well, its the start of a new month, start of a new year, and start of another new challenge over at By The Cute and Girly Debby has set the challenge for this month and appropriately the challenge is : NEW

This new home card was made by cutting some of the "Papermania scalloped 8x8" " down to create the card base. I have used "American Crafts - the colour of memories" on the inside of the card, and finally I have used some "sugar nellie" manga kids and I have coloured them with whispers pens.

This was a very quick card. The topper and the little house are from my "Kanban - Lorali Faries kit" the paper was from my scrap box...I think it is "Sandylion" I have just added some faux stitching and the pearls as a finishing touch. I have made this for a friend who is in a world of her own and loves the thought of everything fairytale!!! so this is perfect for her.

Finally this is a page I have done of my wedding cake. I have been married for almost 10 years and this only the 2nd page I have done of my wedding album. This page is of my wedding cake. The background is done using "HOTP" and I have inked around the edges using "Distress ink - worn lipstick" again the papers are from the bottom of my scrap box. Then I have made some flowers using my new flower punch! Can you believe I have been crafting all this time and I have only just purchased a flower punch!! and finished off using some swirl peeloffs. The journaling tells the story of my Mum making the cake and then my sister in law decorating it.

Please pop over to By The Cute and Girly and have a look at the rest of the design teams amazing designs!! also as usual we have some totally amazing prizes on offer so please come and join in with us! We cant wait to see your creations!

Hugs to you all Juls
