Steampunk Romance

Hello All, yes shock horror a card from me, I cant believe it has been 6 weeks since I last made a card! wow how life has changed. My beautiful baby girl does not believe is sleeping for more than 15 min at a time, unless she is being held!! so at the moment my production has dramatically decreased and my spending increased, as I seem to spend a lot of time watching create and craft, and just cant resist.

I have purchased the seriff craft artist professional programme, that has been such a life line, as I have been able to do some scrap pages, and more baby thankyou cards, and I can craft with one hand and print out later .. I do much prefer to uses scissors glue, inks e.c.t but it is allowing me to release a little creativity at the moment.

By some miracle she did sleep for a little more over the weekend, plus my hubby was available to keep her contented, so I managed to escape into the loft for a little while ... it was bliss!! Although I should have taken the opportunity and make quick cards, I just wanted to play ... so embossing powders, the heatgun and sewing machine all made an appearance.... I didn't know where I was going with this when I started I just continued playing and fiddling, and this was the result.

Stamps - Chocolate Barouque/punky Romance
               Kanban/ Jasper
Embossing - Couture Creations/Workshop
Colouring Medium - Prisma Pencils
Inks- Brilliance - a pink one! (cant remember the exact colour, sorry - and cant be bothered to run into the loft to check!) Distress ink- Worn Lipstick & Antique Linen
Embossing powder - Seafoam white (with some Mica powder mixed in)

P.S - I have just come back and discovered this new look blog, its taken me forever to do my post today, cant understand how the stupid thing works!! Its taken forever to do my post today!

Thanks for looking
Hugs Juls

  5. How lovely to heat from you Julia.

I can well imagine how life has changed, babies have a habit of taking up our time and the days drift past.

At least you still have your knack of creating beautiful cards, this one is so soft and delicate.

It is possible to revert to the old Blogger template be clicking on the spanner tool at the top right of of your blog list and select old blogger. So many people are unhappy with the new look and have complained to blogger - strength in number and all that.

Take care and enjoy that baby girl, they grow up all too fast.

  17. Hi Juls great to see you back as I know your cute little girl is most definitely taking up all your spare time and rightly so.
I have CraftArtist as well and love it. I have had it for about 18 months but only started using it over the last week and am totally addicted. I even had my layout picked today on Daisytrail as the featured layout. If you get a chance pop over and have a look.
Well off to bed for me now x

  18. Hi Juls. So glad you are loving Craft Artist. You can do a bit as and when your little one allows. S envious that you've got a baby to cuddle but don't think I could cope with one full time at my timme of life. Too exhausting.
You haven't lost any of your pezazz when it comes to making cards even though it's been a while. This one is beautiful, love the soft colours and the design. So glad you decided to 'play' instead of going into production.

  19. Your card is so beautiful , I'm so tempted by this steam punk, but I have bought too much lately, and will be out of work very soon. This is totally your style, fabulous.
I was lucky Sam slept alot , 14 hours a night from 3 months, he needs waking now for school .
Those baby slings are good as they leave your hands free and keep baby close.
I sent you an email, did you get it?
    Love to you all. janex

  22. Hi Juls, oh how well do I remember those early days! So little sleep, so much baby!! Unfortunately my Emily has never really slept well - even now (when she will be 5 in a few weeks time) it's still hit and miss with her sleep. She generally sleeps through, but she is 99% of the time awake at 6am (and earlier!). Still wouldn't swap her for the world or change the fact that we've got her - I just survive on less sleep!!!

Gorgeous card as well, love the colour and your images are just gorgeous!

  23. Beautiful Juls - hopefuflly she will settle into a routine for you. I used to put my guy on the bed snoozing next to my desk whilst I crafted (seems like an age ago!) Hugs, Dee

  24. Hi Juls

Good to know things are still OK. Sounds very familiar to me - the lack of sleep bit - had this with my first!!!! The Create and Craft scenario is also familiar.
I love your card, the colours are beautiful, not your typical steam punk colours but it works so well.

    All the best hun.

  26. Oh poor baby, she sounds just like my little girl who was only context to sleep in my arms lol. She will grow out of it though. I love your gorgeous card, so soft and pretty. I think there is still an option to revert to the old style blog Juls but we will probably all get changed for good very soon.
