The Kathryn Wheel Challenge - July
Hello All,
As you can tell, with the last few posts, I have got right back into the whole art journaling thing again .... another thing I really wanted to get back to was joining in the Kathryn Wheel challenge for a 365 day journal, I was so enjoying it at the beginning of the year, and I got up to about half way through March ... that's when I found out I was expecting, I was so ill I wasn't able to craft much, but I had taken a little note of things so I could fill it out when I felt more up to it ...... then I just could not fill in the squares that expressed my joy and excitement .... when I new that some rows later I would be filling out the pain involved in loosing my baby ..... before I knew it 3 months have past ..... I don't know that I will ever be able to go back and fill in that gap ..... can you have a 365 day journal with 3 and a half months missing? - who knows .....
Anyway, here is July's page .... I have created the frame from a whole load of scrap paper ( I have to say I like the results and I have ideas wirring around in my head of how this could translate in a card.) I got the idea from my "journal Bliss by violette" book, again I have used my "Lorali" stamps .... I really am into the sewing theme at the mo....
Thats all for me today,
Thanks for looking

This is so pretty, love the shabby chic feel. The touch of stitching really makes it. Don't worry about the missing months, if you aren't up to filling them in, it's ok. Hope you are healing and taking care of yourself.

Juls, I just LOVE this and especially that you used all scraps! July is DELIGHTFUL! On a personal note, I would leave the pages blank because it truly reflects how you felt at that time. Here's hoping the BEST for you in the future! HUGS! Sue

So pretty. I really love your torn edges and your crosses that look like stitching. Happy July :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Juls, your blog is making fascinating reading - loving the change of direction you are taking at the mo. The art journals are wonderful and the page of this journal is just soooo pretty. Love the papers. Am sorry to hear of your loss, I'm not sure how you would fill in the pages. I know what I went through wasn't a proper miscarrage as such (we'd had IVF treatment that didn't work) but the two weeks of sheer joy / terror of maybe being pregnant was enough heartache for me. Took a little while to get my head around it all and then head back to try again. Hope you are keeping well. Sarah
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're back into things. I hope you can find a place for things in your heart or on paper... Maybe a blank page is the most truthful thing because the question why is so hard to answer. Thank you so much for all your visits and compliments...and thanks for visiting My Mojo Monthly and encouraging words. I do hope you will be back soon to share one of your creations!
ReplyDeleteSarah.
Your July pages are perfect for the summer, Juls! So glad to see you back working on your journal! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteHello Juls,
ReplyDeleteYour art journalling is just beautiful, Ive thoroughly enjoyed reading your family's history with craft and sewing in particular. Its been such a lovely trip down memory lane for you and most of us also I'd guess!
I think come the time you will know exactly what you want to say in the those months and in the meantime it's good to carry on with a month that comes more freely and easier for you to journal.
Youve got some of the most delicious cards Ive seen in a long time! I especially love your less is more approach and as for the black and white polka dots with fuchsia pink......just fabulous!
