Painting The Roses Red

Hi Everyone 

I have another video Tutorial on my YouTube Channel today. 

I had a Alice in Wonderland Tea Party for my 6 year old daughter last week, we had immense fun, I had bought some  cheap little necklaces and braclets for all there was a few left over and when I had this collection of little charms, I just Had to do a Mixed Media project! 

I have altered a paintbrush using some Dylusion Black & Red Paint & the fabulous Winnie in Wonderland download from Polkadoodles. I also added some Pebeo Gilding Wax and Kuretake watercolour splashes just to finish it off.

We Love to Create Challenge 12

Hi There,

Its time for another challenge over at We Love To Create, which is all about mixed media. I really hope you will come and join us, there are so many talented mixed media artists out there, I love being inspired by your work.

For this page, I started by dragging distress inks Picked Raspberry & Spiced Marmalade down the page. I then added some scrap left over papers from the posydoodle paper kit I then blended that into the background by using the accents stencil 

I then also added some stamping using the little stamps from the Dragon Fly Doodles I added the feature images also from the Posy doodle paper kit , I added the title from papers in the 6x6 posy doodle paper pad I then just added a little doodling and highlighted some of the stamping using the transparent Nuvo drops.

August 2018 Take 5 Art Challenge

Hi All,

Sharing another project, I filmed the process of me creating this page and you can find it on YouTube
I created a page in my Junk and Disorderly Journal. I did some painting with a Pallet knife in the background, added some details with stencils and stamps and used the Posy Doodle kit from Polkadoodles to create some collage elements.

Little Robin

Hi Everyone,

I loved making this Mixed Media piece. I picked up a little plaque thing from B&M bargains it was £1.60 .. and the little rectangle at the bottom swivels round to reveal a different message. I bought all of them when I saw them so I have another 3 in the loft ready to alter lol.

I started off by priming it by using Spray Gesso from Pinto ( love that stuff makes priming a piece soooo easy!! ) I then used the Poinsettia stencil and used some 3D embossing past through it .. when it had dried I coloured it us using some Dylusions Ink sprays. .. when that had dried I used the Winter/landscape Trees This time I put a Gel Medium through it, so it dried clear, & kept the colours of the background in it, I sprinkled a little glitter into it as it dried. Then to emphasise the design I went round the edges of the design using a inktense pencil. 

Then to decorate I used The Robin on a Branch Die & Stamp Set I die cut the branch & stamped out the little robin and coloured with my Ecoline Brush Pens. I then highlighted various areas using Nuvo Transparent liquid Pearls & finally added a sentiment from There is Snow Place Like Home

Polkadoodles ODS - Key Holder

Hi everyone,

Sharing a mixed media project I made for the Hochanda ODS with Polkadoodles.

I bought this little key holder really cheaply at B&M bargins and altered it. I started off spraying with Gesso & then using the stencils from the show I put some texture paste on it. I then covered the whole think with coloured inks and highlighted the texture with guilding wax … I have stamped the little houses multiple times and coloured with my copic markers and layered it up. I then added Nuvo drops and glitter to create the snow.

Polkadoodles ODS - Altered Brush

Hello Everyone,

Well the time is finally here, the first ever Polkadoodles ODS has gone Live … we are so so very excited & there are loads of goodies to check out.

For this make I have made an Altered brush … I got a set of 3 cheap brushes from the pound shop, I covered in Gesso using Pinto spray gesso … I also added some texture paste through the stencil to add some extra interest .. I then coloured it up using some Kuretake Gansi Tambi watercolours. I then used the Lacy Poinsettia die and the flower die from the centre of the Fancy circles and layered them up … I also popped some sparkly leaves behind them ( they are also available from the Polkadoodles shop ) and finally I stamped the gnome snowmen onto shrink plastic and popped them on top of the white die cut snowflakes.

Doodle Dragonfly Mini Canvas

Hi All,

I have made a few of these mini canvas's and I have to say I am addicted. I have used the gorgeous new Doodle Dragon Fly stamp set. I inked the edges of the canvas using some distress inks, I then stamped out some flowers and a butterfly and coloured using my zig markers, and did some fussy cutting. I stamped the edges of the canvas with some of the doodle stamps and then added the flowers and the butterfly to the canvas.

Splash Of Summer Tag

Hi All, Sharing another make show casing the gorgeous new Posy Doodle collection from Polkadoodles, which you can find here

For this tag, I started off creating a background using Distress Oxide inks, I then used some of the little stamps from the Delicate Doodles stamp set ... I then stamped the flowers and dragon fly Separately and also coloured using distress inks, I also added some highlights using SN Sparkle pens. Finally I added a sentiment from the Bee Nice Sentiment stamp set, I stamped it onto black card and embossed with white.

Splash Of Summer Canvas

Hi There,

I am loving the new Posy Doodle range from Polkadoodles, which you can find here I decided to make a little Canvas.

Firstly I used one of the backing papers in the kit and ripped it up to add some nice textured edges, I then covered with clear gesso so I could use different mediums on it. I used texture paste and a stencil to add a little texture, I then used Lindy's Stamp Gang magicals and some gelatos to highlight the texture.

Finally I stamped out some flowers from the Doodle Dragon Fly and Delicate Doodles stamp set, I coloured them with Ecoline pens and SN Sparkle pens, and shaped the flowers to create dimension. & then I used the bees and a sentiment from the Bee Nice stamp set.

Digi Choosday Week 6

Hi All,

Its Digi Choosday again ... Yaaaay!!! so please do pop over to the blog to grab today's discount code & maybe treat yourself to some gorgeous crafty images to play with.

The Theme this week as always is anything goes. However the DT were asked to follow the theme reuse/recycle. Now I have boxes filled with stuff that I categorise as " I could do something with that " ... so I rummaged through that, and pulled out various lids off boxes and created a shadow box with them. I also grabbed some of my broken Jewellery to use as embellishments. The boxes I painted with Black Gesso & then edged with gilding wax.

Then as a further challenge to myself, I decided not to print out any more Polkadoodles goodness, but rather to flick through my leftovers from previous projects and use that instead. I still had a few bits from the Winnie in Wonderland collection printed out .. so used that. After I put everything together I added gold splashes to finish it off.

Digi Choosday - Week 48

Hello All .... Well its Digi Choosday again!! Which means lots of inspiration and a fabulous discount too ... yaaaay!!!! so please do pop over to the blog to grab todays code.

As always the challenge is Anything Goes, and I have gone for a whole mixed media thing ... I have used Ula's Life I printed her and some papers out onto rice paper, I stitched some detail onto her crown and dress & did some beadwork ... I also overlayed lace onto her dress & finally did some over stamping using Belle Papillion stamps & I finished it off using a large rose from Polkadoodles.

GDT at We Love to Create

Hi All,

I'm really delighted to have been asked to be a GDT at the We Love to Create Challenge blog. I love Mixed media ... and this time enjoyed playing & experimenting in my journal.

I used lots of tags and chipboard letters as a base to create texture, and then covered over it all with a layer of white gesso. I then used some Lindy's Stamp Gang magicals, just sprinkled some of the powder over and sprayed with water and watched the magic happen. I emphasised the edges of the tags, by going round the edges with an inktense watercolour pencil.

I did some over stamping with the text script from Belle Papillion and used the butterflies as a feature ( they have been coloured using SN sparkle pens ) and then finally added a sentiment.

I used some of the fabulous embellishments from Polkadoodles Glitter branch spray and Curly Roses I then sprayed over some of it using a Dylusion spray.

Polkadoodles Altered Lantern

I am back with another make from Polkadoodles Create and Craft Show .. you can catch up here: http://www.createandcraft.com/gb/shows/polkadoodles-new-cd-roms-and-dies--2657212?channel=CC

This is a little altered Lantern, I picked a few of them up in the Works last year for 80p .. it has a little battery tea light in there too ... so very cute. It was blue plastic ... I covered in Gesso .. then sanded back slightly and added some silver guilding wax. I used some coloured wire and beads and then wrapped it around the handle. I then printed and cut out loads of flowers from the foliage section of the Winnie in Winterland collection I then covered the whole thing in lots of chunky glitter for a little extra sparkle.

Polkadoodles Royal Peacock - Altered Shoe

Hello All,

Very exciting day for us at PD towers, Nikky had a fabulous show on Create and Craft .. You can still find the show available to watch here ... you have to check out Nikky's amazing peacock!!!

Stamp Soup is one of my favourite Polkadoodle products, and I can't quite believe that the very first samples I have ever made for a TV show were stamp soup ones!! eeeeeeeeeeek

So I started with an Altered shoe ... This was originally a bright pink shoe .... I used to bbe able to wear shoes like this all the time, now however I stick to flats!! I wore these not long after I had my daughter and fell while pushing the pram ... I have never worn them since ...

I covered the shoe in Black Gesso ... and with indigo blu slap it on I covered it with glitter, and then used it again to seal it .... I stamped with the soup down the side of the shoe with gold embossing powder. I then stamped on heat resistant acetate to create the scallops that go down the side of the shoe ... the butterfly on the back of the shoe & the dimensional flower on the front of the shoe, & finally I added gems round the edge of the shoe.

Lil Miss Mermaid and Dolphin

Hi All, sharing another Lil Miss Sugarpops make totay we have Lil Miss Mermaid with Dolphin I have coloured her up using copic markers.

I was originally going to make a simple card with the coloured image with a watercolour background, but it turned into a mixed media card.

I started off creating a background with brusho's and SN Sparkle pens ... I then did a bit of faux bleaching with water through a stencil. I then embossed using one of Leonie Pujol's embossing folders, and highlighted the detail using a guilding wax. The I added some little polkadoodle die cuts, lots of chunky glitter and some little glass beads.
