Cinderella
Hi All,
Something a little different from me today... a cross stitch! (sorry about the angle of the 2nd photo..this is hanging on the wall of my living room, and I was finding it very difficult to photograph without getting some very interesting reflections!!!!
I have been looking for a good excuse to put this on my blog...and it came in the form of the challenge over at By The Cute and Girly.... (didn't the girls to an amazing job!!!....missing you all!! ) the theme this month is "Fairy Tales"...so I thought this would work perfectly for that!!!.......I didn't whip this up this morning, I have to admit it was a labour of love that took about 4 years...so I hope it is ok to enter it!!
Cross stitch was my first love before I discovered papercrafting, I do still always have one on the go..don't produce as many!!....This is one of My favourite ones...
My absolute favourite one, was one that I did for my grandparents 50th...it was a photo of their wedding which was black and white!!...so many shades of grey! It drove me insane!!..but it was worth it to see their excitement...but I will never do a black and white one again!!!!
Anyway enough of my waffle!!! Thanks for looking..
Hugs Juls

Hi Juls
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch is gorgeous - such a shame that they take so long to complete because the result is so stunning.
I used to make cross stitch cards and pictures before I found rubber stamps!!
I have a huge one on the go at the moment that is a Victorian dolls house but can't remember the last time I added a stitch!!
My favourite was a wedding sampler for a couple that have since split up - I wonder where it is now?
Have a good Easter.
Love Jules xx

Georgeous work!
This is stunning and as an x-stitcher myself I know how many hours you would have been pouring over it. I have one of their patterns -- had it for about 10 years now, beads and all are ready - so.........
ReplyDeleteLinbyx
Juls this is absolutely stunning!!! Wow, I used to cross stitch too, so I know the work involved, just amazing! And I can't even imagine doing one in black and white, what a wonderful gift for your grandparents!
ReplyDeleteWOOOW, your project is AMAZING! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Magda
Oh Juls, this is sooooo totally adorable!! I take my hat off to you, love the beads, love the total!
ReplyDeleteIra
This is gorgeous Juls. I used to cross stich all the time so I can appreciate what a lot of work went into this lovely picture. I hardly ever cross stitch now which is a shame as I used to love it!
ReplyDeleteKat xx
OMG Juls! This is just stunning!!! I cross stitched night and day for ten years solid, then stopped. Just can't get back into it now. I have TONS of Mirabilia's, they sit framed on the floor propped against the wall in my craft room :-( I've not seen this one before, so it was probably released after I stopped, but still utterly beautiful. Maybe I should put some of mine on my blog. Not sure about taking photos with the glass though. Thanks for the inspiration. keeleyxx
