Anne Shirley

Hi All,

I think any long time followers of my blog will know that I am obsessed with the Anne of Green Gables, I have read the books countless times, and have watched the Megan Follows series so much that I can practically quote the whole thing!! ..... So as you can imagine I LOVE this Krafting Kimmie stamp.

I have coloured her up using my trusty copics ... & teamed her with papers from my scrap pile ... The background paper was a little plain so I have overstamped with Bo Bunny stamps to add a little interest, I have used memory box dies ... handmade spiral roses, and added a sprinkling of Frantage.

I found the sentiment on Pinterest it reads:

7 things I learned from Anne Shirley:

1 - Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes
2- As bad as one may think Red hair is Green is 10 times worse
3- One Cannot be expected to give up being a little girl all at once.
4- A sense of Humor is vital
5-Never settle for anything less than Gilbert Blythe
6-Riches are great, but the things unseen are what last
7-The world would be very dull if everyone were sensible

Im sure this stamp will be used time and time again :-)

I would like to enter this into this into the following challenges:

Steampunk Snow White

Hello All,

This card is a little different style for me, I am loving the whole steampunk look but as yet I have not given it a try, so this is me trying to play and experiment with a new style.

One thing I have enjoyed about this card is that it is a whole hybrid of various types of crafting.

Firstly I did some cd crafting I played about with the " A Very Important Date" cd from MCS - All the layered papers was an image that was already put together, I added in the clock and the books from the cd. That fabulous image is one that I have had for ages, It was a free image from the fabulous Princess Elemmiriel However when I purchased it I only had whisper pens, and I would use a water brush to colour, so I really struggled with digital images, especially one as detailed as this, so it has been left in a folder on my computer, now I have copics and Prisma's I thought it was about time that she was used. The image was on a creamy background, so I put in on the layered papers and blended the edges so it looked part of the paperstack, and then it was coloured using my prisma pencils.

I have also gone a bit mad with the traditional stamping to, the background card has been distressed using "Tim Holtz" antique Linen .... I then over stamped with a "Hero Arts" script stamp, and with the "Memento - coffee bean" Ink I have stamped the cogs using a "Kanban" stamp.

I then stamped over my focal image with a "Inkadinkado" swirl stamp, and heat embossed in Gold. For the flower I have again stamped using the "Memento - Coffee Bean" and a "Kanban" stamp and I have used a brad in the centre of the clock to hold it together.

Finally as it was a snow white theme I also wanted an apple embellishment, as the only apple image I had was a "Krafting Kimmie" one, It wasn't really the right look, that I was wanting so I stamped over it with the "Kanban" cogg stamp and heat embossed with gold - so I now have a clockwork apple! (I have heard of a clock work orange, so I am sure an apple works too)

Finally I added some " Anita's Glaze" to her broach, just to add a little more texture.

I am happy with the way its turned out, I think its ok for a first attempt, however I realise I have a lot to learn about creating this whole look, So I would be happy to receive any constructive criticism, and tips on how I could improve.

Kraft and Krafting Kimmie

Hi All,

As you can see I am still playing with my Prismas & Kraft .... I did these ones last night, I have used some " Krafting Kimmie" images both the cards again have been edged using my little kanban stamp, and the first card the castle in the background is "Paper Artsy"

I would like to enter these into:

Simon Says
- Anything Goes
CES - Totally gorjuss, pretty girls

I was so excited yesterday as I went the whole day without being sick, and there is a baby fayre on in Inverness today, I wanted to look, especially at the prams, there is a shocking lack of choice here in Inverness, and although we plan to get one second hand or look on line for the best deal, I still wanted to have a look at some and get a feel for if I liked them or not. However as yet I have not managed out my bed without being sick, so it is looking unlikely!! I'm gutted and feeling very sorry for myself. My blending solution has just arrived so hopefully next time I am able to get out of bed I can have a play with that, and my craft stamper magazine has just arrived so that will keep me amused for a while.

Anyway once again thanks for looking, and putting up with my waffle

Classy and Fabulous

Hello All,

I am sorry I have not been about much this week, I have been on a first aid course, which means I have had to work rather than play in the evenings.. so I hope to catch up with you all soon. trouble is its that that now when I am desperate to create, I feel my mojo has gone walkies .... I have tried a few things but nothing is really working for me.

There are so many challenges at the mo that have red as a theme....and as it is my ultimate favourite colour I had to make something to join in!!

I have used "Krafting Kimmie", "Paper Artsy" and "Kanban stamps to create this card" I have used "copics" and "sakura" gel pens to colour. I have stamped with "memento" black and "Brilliance" -rocket red & Graphite black.... and finally added some glitter, gems and flowers.

An Apple a Day

Hello All....

I seem to be only capable of making this shape of card at the mo!! I have just made it from plain card using my craft ultimate pro from crafters companion, I will have to be careful I don't get into to much of a crafting rut with it!!!

I have kept it quite simple....I have used this gorgeous Krafting Kimmie image, have coloured with my copics and then added some touches of glitter......The apple has glossy accents over it. The flourishes around the edges have been done with my trusty Kanban stamp.

The sentiment I have printed off the computer and I have added faux stitching.

Shoes can change your life!!!!

Hello All,

I had great fun making this card !!! The back ground is an image from "Make it Crafty"......they have the most gorgeous backgrounds in their store....far too many of them fell into my basket!!!
and the Cinderella image is " Krafting Kimmie"...the floral detail is again using my little "Kanban" stamp.

I coloured the background with copics....and then spayed over with a mica powder spray.....honestly i have had these mica powders for years and years.....and have only just started using them, now I have i am completely addicted...it means I keep pulling my iron out the cupboard to flatten my paper again......my hubby looked at me and said "its ok I knew you would not be getting the iron out to do something sensible like iron clothes!!"....cheek!!!!

Cinderella has also been coloured using copics...and then I have added extra sparkle with some "martha stewart" glitters.

All the edges have been inked with "distress ink - milled lavender"..... finally I have added some stitching, some flowers using old scrap paper...and some gems and pearls......Oh and the sentiment I created on the computer.

This is my entry for:

The Story Begins.....

Hello All,

Well.........my first card of 2011. This was a card that just seemed to evolve... I had no plan in mind when I started....This is a new stamp for me "Krafting Kimmie - Snow White"....she is just gorgeous!!!..I knew I wanted her in blue but I had no DP that was the colour I wanted so I just decided to colour her in, and I would see what I could do later.....

I looked at various castle stamps that I had to create a background....nothing looked right. Then I came across this set of "Darcies - flourish house" stamps that so far have remained uninked.. ( I have so many stamps like that its embarrassing!!)....The House, the little owl and the sentiment are from that set.

I inked up the page with "distress ink - Tumbled glass & faded jeans"....The flourish is my trusty "Kanban" stamp....not sure how I crafted before owning that one!....I wanted to tie the red in a bit more so I added red dots to the foliage using a sakura glitter pen.....finally I added some stitching, some loose glitter on the dress and apple and a little glitter to the background.

Think I will be using this as a new home card!

Craft Stamper Inspiration.

Hello All,

I was so delighted when My Craft Stamper magazine arrived.....normally a highlight of every month! There is so much in this months mag that I just Love. I was particularly taken with Kim Costello's article on page 43....I just Loved how she had cut out the shape on the castle to create interest to the card......and I really wanted to give it a try......I hope you don't mind Kim!

I didn't have the same castle stamp, so I tried to create the same effect using what I had. "Paper Artsy - Crowns and Castles 4" I stamped the image 5 times and cut out various sections to create a continuous castle wall.

I have also used some " Krafting Kimmie" Images as the main figures. and a "Kanban" stamp to create the floral background...I have stamped that in "Memento - Rose Red"

All the images have been coloured with copics, and then blinged up a little using "Martha Stewart glitters"

Polly Put The Kettle On

Hello All,

This is another card that I made at my mum's house. In all honesty I don't think I really like it...I have made this card using a template, any time I try this I always think it looks naff...the idea is there but I don't seem to have the ability to execute it very well. Also I am not sure about the papers i used....don't get me wrong I do love these papers...I just don't know if they work as a teapot?!!!...however I only had a limited supply of stuff with me.

The papers are: "Basic Grey" and the image is "Krafting Kimmie"

Tea Time Notes

Hello All,

I got a text the other day from a friend asking for a notepad....I got no brief at all on what she wanted so I sat thinking for ages...I know she is a bit of a tea jenny...like myself, so I decided on this fab "Krafting Kimmie" image. the last time I saw her she was wearing a lime green top...so that's why I chose this colour scheme.

My image has been coloured with copics. The fab papers are ones I bought in Canada "momenta - Family Ties" and the little flowers are from "Prima". The pink swirl has been created using some scrap paper and the "sissix - flourish & hearts" die.

I am quite pleased with the way it turned out considering when I started I did not know where I was going! ......now I just hope she likes it!!!!

I Like a nice cup of tea....

Hello All,

Last week I was having a great time making cards...I was really happy with everything, this week I seem to have lost my mojo....this is another one that was great in my head, but I am really not happy with the way it turned out.

The card and the teapot, cup and cake embellishments are from "Kanban".....and the other images are from "Krafting Kimmie" which I have coloured with my copics.

I remember my grandfather reciting this "cup of tea" poem so I googled it, and then printed on my computer...I thought it went perfectly with these images!...... I just wished it turned out a bit better...

There's a frog on my head!!

I have to say I have gone a little bit scallop mad at the moment! I was watching QVC and saw some Kanban scalloped cards they were large ones..and I loved them, I remembered though that forever ago I bought, I think its "papermania" 8"x8" scalloped card stock, which I made some cards with when I first bought it, but it has since been long forgotten!! so I hunted it out and chopped it up a bit, until I got what I was after...I have to say I did get rather carried away I think I have made about 10 cards using this style..I also have lots of lovely left over bits which I think I will emboss, and use as features on other cards...anyway here's one of them.

I have used 2 of the 8"x 8" cards to create the double scalloped edge. The gorgeous image is "Krafting Kimmie" and I have coloured her with my whispers pens and glittered up her dress with stickles (unfortunately that does not show up too well on the photo) The paper is "K&Co - Amy Butler/Solice" and for the final bit of bling I have added some Kanban Gems.

This is my entry for
