Art Journal Class

Hello All,

Well I was at my art journaling class today, I want to thank the lovely Lesley for taking it. I just loved it ... it was so nice to get messy with inks and stamps . The top page is the first one we did I loved how it turned out, however I felt I had created a fabulous background but it did not have a good focal point, so I added the stamp and white journaling when I came home ..... despite me owning more stamps than I care to admit .... hundreds and hundreds!!! however I don't have art journaling style stamps ...... think I need to buy yet more crafting goodies!! a good few dillusion sprays fell into my basket, I have played with paints in previous art journaling pages but as yet I have not used sprays, think they may become a new obsession!!

I love the 2nd page its really quirky, not my usual style but loved the creativity of just letting loose putting things together ans seeing what happened.

I took the scrap pages that we used to protect the pages of the books home, and I have used it to make the cover of my journal ... it needs a bit of work to finish it I am sure it will appear here in a few days!

I took a friend with me to the class today, she is not a crafter, but I have always felt journaling would be something she would enjoy, and be good for her. and she loved it I am so pleased.

As always thanks for looking

Bella Bunting Gets A Scooter

Hello All,

I have spent the last few evenings trying to catch up on all I have missed in Blogland, I am hoping things have settled down a little now and I may be able to make a more regular appearance!

Baby is 5 months old now, & beginning to go down slightly earlier in the evening, although she still insists in waking up 4 times a night, so I am slightly sleep deprived!! I am also back at work, I work from home, so often I end up working in an evening as my little angel does not believe in giving me much time during the day. I have been going a tad insane and have felt a real need to craft, so I have now set aside one eve a week where hubby takes on main babysitting duties and I hit the loft, so I can have a little crafting time each week.

I am continuing to enjoy using my seriff programme .... I even now have a signature for my photos, something I have been meaning to do for donkeys!! eventually I would like to redo my blog page but time as always is an issue.

Also this week I am booked into an art journaling class at my local craft shop, I am very excited about that!

Whilst catching up with you all in blogland, the inspiration photo that Krista has set for the saturated canary challenge kept popping up, It reminded me of a Kanban topper I had, then ideas started forming in my head, and I had to play along ... so this card is the result of last nights excursion to the loft, & I finally got playing with my Grand Caliber too!!

Card Blank and Toppers - Kanban

Colouring medium - Copics

Graphic 45

Hello All,

Yes it seems like I have disappeared of the face of the earth! We are beginning to get some sleep through the night now, but she still does no more than catnap during the day, where I frantically run round trying to get some jobs in the house done!! so very little time for crafting, still watching and spending though!!

The other night my Hubby took main babysitting duties, and I just did the feeding and he allowed me to escape into the loft for a little while and have a play, I had just been watching the Graphic 45 hours on c&c and managed to sit on my hands!!! I knew I had a couple of sheets tucked away somewhere in my stash, so feeling all inspired I dug them out and had a little play! I have teamed it up with some Kanban Velacetate, and then I coloured the ladies lips red with my prisma pencils and that was it.

Hopefully as my little sweetie settles I will get more time to play and will be able to make an appearance here more often!!

hugs to you all

Steampunk Romance

Hello All, yes shock horror a card from me, I cant believe it has been 6 weeks since I last made a card! wow how life has changed. My beautiful baby girl does not believe is sleeping for more than 15 min at a time, unless she is being held!! so at the moment my production has dramatically decreased and my spending increased, as I seem to spend a lot of time watching create and craft, and just cant resist.

I have purchased the seriff craft artist professional programme, that has been such a life line, as I have been able to do some scrap pages, and more baby thankyou cards, and I can craft with one hand and print out later .. I do much prefer to uses scissors glue, inks e.c.t but it is allowing me to release a little creativity at the moment.

By some miracle she did sleep for a little more over the weekend, plus my hubby was available to keep her contented, so I managed to escape into the loft for a little while ... it was bliss!! Although I should have taken the opportunity and make quick cards, I just wanted to play ... so embossing powders, the heatgun and sewing machine all made an appearance.... I didn't know where I was going with this when I started I just continued playing and fiddling, and this was the result.

Stamps - Chocolate Barouque/punky Romance
               Kanban/ Jasper
Embossing - Couture Creations/Workshop
Colouring Medium - Prisma Pencils
Inks- Brilliance - a pink one! (cant remember the exact colour, sorry - and cant be bothered to run into the loft to check!) Distress ink- Worn Lipstick & Antique Linen
Embossing powder - Seafoam white (with some Mica powder mixed in)

P.S - I have just come back and discovered this new look blog, its taken me forever to do my post today, cant understand how the stupid thing works!! Its taken forever to do my post today!

4 day card

Hello All,

Well, I am finally here with a card, when Kezia first came home although she took up a lot of time, she would sleep for periods of 4-6 hours, however that very quickly changed !!!!! I started this card, and it took me 2 days just to get it coloured and cut out!! eventually after 4 days, of just giving it 10 min here and there I finally got it done! ...... I think all these topper kits that I keep obsessively buying and never using, my finally get an airing out of necessity!! LOL!!

Card Blank - Kanban
Image - Saturated Canary
Colouring Medium - Copics
Inks - Distress - spun sugar & antique linen
Papers - Prima - Pixie Glen

P.S the lace was from a pair of pj's that I bought, and then altered because they didn't fit properly! (the pj's had never been worn) , its great I have never had lace available to put on a card, so I enjoyed using it here!

This is my entry for:

Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Use a Digi image
Fussy and Fancy - anything but, square/rectangle
Fairy Tale - Anything Goes
Saturday Challenge - shaped card

Bird What?

Hi All,

Thank you for all your kind messages. We are doing well, just trying to go with the flow, today I have had a nice peaceful day, as Kezia as slept all day, however other days I dont get a minite, but I am loving it all.

This is a card I made prior to Kezia bieng born, this was made for a friends teenage son, who has not been well, he was diagnosed with "parrot flu" which is really rare, and it will take him 3 to 6 months to recover, at the time I made the card, I had just heard that he had some infection connection with birds ..... I was hoping that he would see the funny side of my card which he did, so that was a relief!!

This is my entry for:

Cute Card Thursday
- Anything Goes
Dutch Dare - Cute and Cuddly
Stamping for the Weekend - Anything Goes
Totally Papercrafts - Humor
Sweet Stamping - Anything Goes
One Stop Craft - Clean and Simple

have you heard the news? .....

Hello All,

As you will have seen I have been a.w.a.l !!! I am sure you will have guessed why!! Yes my princess did arrive on the 17th at 7.09pm weighing 9lb. It was a difficult birth for us both, but thanks to the wonderful staff at Raigmore both myself and my little Kezia are doing fine.

My husband has been enjoying getting his camera out and having a play, this is a little shot that he took just for fun ... Kezia is sleeping in the basket .... he has tried to make it look like the 2 toys are looking over the pram, and the little teddy is pulling the blanket out her basket!

Will be hit and miss in blogland, but I still enjoy popping in and out when I have the time.

Hugs all round
Juls
