How do you colour yours?.....

Hello All,

I was so excited when I heard the little thud of the post arriving, I wasn't expecting my goodies from the HOS to arrive so soon.....

I have to warn you this is quite a picture heavy post....I have been talking to some bloggy friends, and I realised that in the past I think I was more creative than I am now, I have become quite lazy...and just stamp and colour with my copics....they are great and I am not knocking them in the slightest I LOVE them!!!.....so I want to go back to my roots and play a bit more.

So when the Lovely Faith arrived through my door I thought It was the perfect opportunity to experiment as I don't really have any images like this and I was not sure what would suit her best, so I dug out every colouring medium I have and had a play......now most of these I am not comfortable with so the fact that all the images look reasonably ok, is just a testimony to how fabulous these images are so without further ado:

This one I stamped with Black Stayzon and coloured with watercolour pencils.

This is my entry for:

Fairytale challenge
- Flowers
Paperplay - cutie Patootie
Pennys Challenge - anything goes
Wild orchid Crafts - lets get sentimental
Crafty Card makers - Pencils

This has been stamped with Distress ink Walnut Stain, and I have just dragged in the colour using a water brush and I have added a few highlights using distress ink worn lipstick.

this is my entry for:

My Time to Craft - Spots and Dots
Simon Says Stamp and show - Polka Dots
Raise the Bar - Oh to be a kid again

This has been stamped with Distress Ink faded Jean and again I have just pulled in the colour.

This is my entry for:

Cute Card Thursday - Monochrome
Crafts and me - Monochrome
Papertake weekly - ribbons and pearls

These are the final images...that have not yet been turned into cards......try not to laugh too hard at the pastel option, I have never used them before ..... I bought some pastels when I went to visit Derwant pencils on a holiday to the lakes 3 years ago .... and I was convinced that after visiting the pencil museum that I would take up art again ...... they remained unopened until yesterday!!!!

Thank you so much for looking ............. so, how do you colour yours?
Hugs Juls

  1. Hi Juls, firstly let me congratulate you on your wonderfully exciting DT news! If ever there was a girl that suited those images its you....(I've been meaning and meaning to get here sooner....i'm sorry i haven't until now!)...i was sooo delighted for you when i saw the news!

The reason i love stamping so much is that they are so versatile - which your post illustrates beautifully! 3 cards so different and all so fab...but...if we're allowed to pick favourites mine is the second one!!!!! lol It's the soft delicate nature and beautiful colour combo you chose!

I've tried various different colouring mediums...watercolour pencils, then distress inks and lately Prisma pencils....although i did invest in some copics just after christmas....i need to learn how to use those yet though!! bx

  4. these are wonderful juls, it is easy to get in a rut craft wise, not that you have, I always end up cutie but I used to do lots of altered art type, think only me liked it.
I love my markers but sometimes add pencil and sanador , I think we are always learning, and that's fun and looking and learning from other crafters is great.
I love your work, always have and your handwriting is excellent, you would make a great scrapbooker.

  34. Wow! These are all lovely, Juls! Love your different color mediums.. fabulous results!

I used to color with the water brush, but I haven't done that in awhile. I love Prisma pencils and OMS but the OMS gives me a headache and I prefer it over baby oil and Goo Gone. I mostly color with Copics now.

  35. They are all beautiful but I am in LOVE with the one made with Walnut Stain distress ink. A perfect pair with pink and so lovely to see!
